The sea or the ocean inspires me, painting "Marine" style canvases is as important to me as painting landscapes. You have to concentrate on the representation of a single ship, at least choose one as the main subject, of course there are no rules but that's how I like to represent them, without a boat it becomes a common and banal landscape.
This figurative art allows strong emotions to be expressed, with the wind, the movement of waves, a storm, a clear blue sky or a foggy and energetic sky. It becomes the eternal spectacle of a frozen movement, the mind imagines the boat cutting through the waves with speed while it is only a motionless representation.
After having defined whether I am going to paint the entire boat or only part of it, its number, its type (monohull, catamaran, trimaran, sailboat, regatta, semi-rigid, day-cruiser, yacht, etc.), I try to bring my own view of it, I want to show the forces of the vessel which cuts through the immense foam, the ferocity of the meteorological elements which defy it, the power of the breath in the sails if it has any, I want breathe new life into the work.
