I remember at Gérard Philipe college that Mr. Jean Goy, professor of "Technologies", made us draw standardized letters, it was boring, he scared us, I got to know him once an adult, he became a friend and I positive this period of my life as a plus to my art. It's fun to play with letters, it's an easy game and frankly accessible to everyone. By drawing letters we open our imagination without realizing it, we had to create our own typography with our own style.
There is nothing simpler than drawing everything yourself, opening a magazine, a book or any other printed document, choosing letters that interest us, cutting them out, and pasting them, either randomly or thoughtfully. We can thus make greeting or birthday cards, customize small objects that we are tired of to give them a second lease of life, or make small paintings for newborns and offer them to future mothers, a touch that is a pleasure each time, you can simply fill out a travel or drawing notebook, letters are fun and you can do anything with them.
For my part, I like to assemble them in such a way as to offer an atmosphere to my painting, I like to bring out a theme but which is not always noticeable at first glance, I try to give a very graphic effect, atypical of my creation. I hope that we will discover subtleties and new things with each observation of these.
